    The Athletic Division strives to offer a wide variety of quality youth activities to the children of Jacksonville and surrounding areas. These activities range from youth baseball, basketball, skate park and much more. We encourage positive participation and good sportsmanship with all of our programs.

    Midget Boys-assessments, a parents and coaches meeting will be held on March 12 at 6PM at the Commons Recreation Center Gym.

    Minor Girls-assessments, a parents and coaches meeting will be held on March 14 at 6PM at the Commons Recreation Center Gym.

    Little League Boys-assessments, a parents and coaches meeting will be held on March 13 at 6PM at the Commons Recreation Center Gym.

    Junior Boys-No assessments will be held, coaches meeting TBD

    Practices will begin in March, with games being scheduled for May and June.

    What equipment is required?
    -We provide a team shirt and hat/visor. (You will be asked for this information during registration, no extra shirts or hats are ordered)
    -You will be responsible for a glove, pants/belt, socks and cleats. (Ask your coach for colors)
    -Optional:
    • Baseball bats – (ages 7-12 not to exceed 33” in length or 2 ¼ inches in diameter. Must be BPF 1.15) (14U & 18U bats shall not weigh numerically more than 3 ounces less than the length. Bat cannot exceed 2 5/8 inches in diameter and 34” in length. Composite barrel bats must be certified and marked BBCOR .50)
    • Softball bats – Must meet the 2004 ASA Bat Performance Standard
    • Batting helmet and catchers gear

    Will the games be played on Saturday?
    -Yes games will be played on Saturdays. We’ve even been known to have make-up games on Sunday if we have a lot of rain out games. Sunday games would be scheduled around 1:30PM.

    Where will practice and the games be held?
    -Practice will be twice a week between Monday – Saturday starting after 5PM
    -Once games begin practices will be cut back to one time a week.
    - Possible locations for practice are: Jacksonville Commons Recreation (Youth and Adult fields), Jack Amyette, Kerr Street, Northeast Creek, Jacksonville Commons Elementary/Middle School, Jacksonville High School, Northwoods Middle School and Bell Fork Elementary School.
    -Games will typically be twice a week Monday - Saturday( T-ball from 5:30-6:15PM) (8U, 10U,12U, 14U & 18U after 6PM)

    Midget Boys-assessments, a parents and coaches meeting will be held on March 12 at 6PM at the Commons Recreation Center Gym.

    Minor Girls-assessments, a parents and coaches meeting will be held on March 14 at 6PM at the Commons Recreation Center Gym.

    Little League Boys-assessments, a parents and coaches meeting will be held on March 13 at 6PM at the Commons Recreation Center Gym.

    Junior Boys-No assessments will be held, coaches meeting TBD
    Junior Girls-No assessments will be held, coaches meeting TBD

    Practices will begin in March, with games being scheduled for May and June.

    FAQ

    What equipment is required?
    -We provide a team shirt and hat/visor. (You will be asked for this information during registration, no extra shirts or hats are ordered)
    -You will be responsible for a glove, pants/belt, socks and cleats. (Ask your coach for colors)
    -Optional:
    • Baseball bats – (ages 7-12 not to exceed 33” in length or 2 ¼ inches in diameter. Must be BPF 1.15) (14U & 18U bats shall not weigh numerically more than 3 ounces less than the length. Bat cannot exceed 2 5/8 inches in diameter and 34” in length. Composite barrel bats must be certified and marked BBCOR .50)
    • Softball bats – Must meet the 2004 ASA Bat Performance Standard
    • Batting helmet and catchers gear

    Will the games be played on Saturday?
    -Yes games will be played on Saturdays. We’ve even been known to have make-up games on Sunday if we have a lot of rain out games. Sunday games would be scheduled around 1:30PM.

    Where will practice and the games be held?
    -Practice will be twice a week between Monday – Saturday starting after 5PM
    -Once games begin practices will be cut back to one time a week.
    - Possible locations for practice are: Jacksonville Commons Recreation (Youth and Adult fields), Jack Amyette, Kerr Street, Northeast Creek, Jacksonville Commons Elementary/Middle School, Jacksonville High School, Northwoods Middle School and Bell Fork Elementary School.
    -Games will typically be twice a week Monday - Saturday( T-ball from 5:30-6:15PM) (8U, 10U,12U, 14U & 18U after 6PM)
    -Possible locations for games are: Jacksonville Commons Recreation (Youth and Adult fields), Jack Amyette, Kerr Street, Northeast Creek, Onslow Pines, Stump Sound, Richland’s Steed Park and Morton Elementary.

    Will I be placed on the same team as last year?
    -If you are returning player from the previous year and you are not ageing up you will be placed on the same team. If a coach does not return the players will stay together and a new coach will be issued. If you do not wish to be placed on the same team you can ask to be placed back into the draft. ALL request need to be made in writing on the waiver form and are passed on to the coaches. Requests are not guaranteed.

These activities range from youth baseball, basketball, skate park and much more. We encourage positive participation and good sportsmanship with all of our programs.

    Registration will take place at the Jacksonville Commons Recreation Administrative Office, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8AM - 5PM. (FEB 6-24)

    Late registration will be charged an additional $5.

    There will be a $25 Adminisrative Fee for all refunds.

    Keep your child safe with the Kidz Dayz Out, that provides quality childcare that will enrich and enhance their school age years. The day will involve snack time, group activities, arts & crafts, lunch time, cultural activities and much more! The program has qualified and experienced staff members whom have 1st Aid & CPR certification and approved background checks. Staff to student ratio is 1:16.

    The Kidz Dayz Out are held at Jacksonville Commons Recreation Center, from 7:30AM - 6:00PM for ages 6-12. Parents must provide a non-perishable lunch and/or snacks. The cost is $10 per day for City Residents and $15 per day for Non Residents.

    Late charges will be charged for those not picked up by 6PM at a rate of $5 per 5 minutes.

    There will be a $25 Administrative fee for all refunds.
